A choice between two entries for Lady Mendoza next week – latest update from Rebecca Menzies

15 Mar 2024
Lady Mendoza

Lady Mendoza is ticking over nicely at home, and she really does look fit at the moment, so it’s just a case of keeping her cantering away and keeping her in good condition.

She’s had plenty of away days at Chris Grant’s yard in recent weeks, so we’ve given her plenty of variety with regards to her work, and she seems to be thriving which is great to see.

We have entered her in a race at Southwell this coming Monday, but there has been quite a bit of rain there this week and it just looks like it might come up softer than ideal. We won’t rule it out completely because we’ll keep an eye on conditions throughout the next 24 hours, but I’d say the race we’ve entered her in at Market Rasen next Wednesday might be the more suitable of the two options. It’s a 0-110 handicap over just short of three miles, and providing the ground doesn’t come up too testing, that could be a nice opportunity for her.

As always, we’ll be on weather watch over the weekend and into next week, and I’ll keep everybody updated with the plans for her.
