Lady Mendoza in good form ahead of Doncaster entry next month – latest from Rebecca Menzies

Lady Mendoza

Lady Mendoza has been in grand form at home, and I couldn’t be any happier with her. We’ve had so many issues with the wet weather up here, but I’ve been taking her up to Chris Grant’s yard to use the gallop there.

Her work has been really good. It’s a nice long uphill gallop which means we can get a good blow into her, and she really seems to enjoy the change of scenery, so I’m very much looking forward to cracking on with her.

There’s a race at Doncaster on Sunday 3rd March that looks suitable for her, so I think we’ll definitely give her an entry there. It’s a 0-105 novices’ handicap over three miles, and I’d say provided we get some dry weather, it will be the ideal race for her. As always, we’ll just have to be on weather watch because I don’t want to waste her next run by running her on bad ground, so I think it’s important that we find her the conditions we know she thrives in.

I’ll keep everybody updated, but hopefully we won’t have too much rain over the next 10 days or so, and we can head to Doncaster and hopefully get her in that winners enclosure.
