Lady Mendoza has been back in full work for the last week or so now, and the good news is the setback she had – basically a blister on her hoof – has cleared up completely, and there’s been no sign of it returning.

The timing was obviously frustrating as she was all set to run at Uttoxeter, but we can now look for another option, and Cartmel on 22nd July looks good. There’s a handicap hurdle, over three miles and a furlong, for horses rated 0 – 110, which could suit her.

She ran well there last time, so I’d have no hesitation in going back there, as always what we don’t want is very testing ground for her, but hopefully that won’t be the case, it is midsummer after all!
