WATCH: Phoenix Of Dreams declared to make his all-weather debut later this week
Phoenix Of Dreams has been declared to make his all-weather debut this Friday as he's set to head to Southwell for the Class 4 Maiden Stakes (16:45).
The club's three-year-old, who's trained by John & Sean Quinn, has had a short break since making his handicap debut off a mark of 78 in early July at Chepstow where he finished 2nd behind the rapid improver for the Andrew Balding team, Miss Information, who's now rated 15lb higher (91).
Friday will mark two firsts for our gelding; it'll be his debut on the all-weather after having his first four appearances on the turf, and it'll also be his first outing over the six furlong trip, having campaigned over seven furlongs up until now.

Following the declaration for this Friday's race, we caught up with trainer Sean Quinn to get the latest on Phoenix Of Dreams, and he had plenty of positive things to say about the club's promising youngster.
"We are really looking forward to getting Phoenix Of Dreams back on the track. There has been some rain around in recent weeks, but just not enough to get the ground we need on turf, so we are going to give him a try on the all-weather, and I’m very hopeful it’s a surface he’ll handle well.
He does a lot of his work at home on a similar artificial surface, and he moves particularly well on it, and we were actually going to start him off at Newcastle at the back end of last year until he picked up a knock, so we’ve always been comfortable with running him on the all-weather.
He seems to be getting faster as well as he gets older, and some of his work has been really sharp of late, so we are bringing him back in trip to six furlongs. Each of his previous runs have been over seven, but as I say, the way he’s going through his work at the moment just suggests he’ll very much have the pace for it, so I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on.
It’s a maiden race, but we are right up there on ratings, and while James Tate’s horse Smart Hero is rated 4lb higher, I’m not too worried about him based on form, and I think we’d have a much better chance of winning a handicap off our mark than he would off his, so I’m very hopeful.
Our horses seem to be in good form, so it’s a good time to be running him, and we have Jason [Hart] back in the saddle who is riding with plenty of confidence at the moment, so I can’t wait to see him back on the track, and I think he has a really solid chance of finally getting off the mark."
John & Sean enjoyed a fruitful York Ebor Festival last week as their only two runners, Jm Jungle (10/1) and Breege (33/1), both landed the spoils in the 5f Handicap (13:50) on Wednesday and the Group 2 City Of York Stakes (15:00) on Saturday respectively, so hopefully Phoenix Of Dreams can go close to adding to that success on Friday.
