Two options for Phoenix Of Dreams next week as Sean Quinn looks to build on his latest positive run
The first is a 0-75 race over six furlongs at Southwell on the 11th and the second is a 0-75 over seven furlongs at Chelmsford. I'm weighing the decision up in my mind now as I believe he will get the seven furlong trip in time, but he needs to settle a little bit before we can be comfortable sending him up in trip. I do believe that he still has more to offer at six furlongs and hopefully, with every run Phoenix Of Dreams has without any issues, he will become more comfortable, settle into his races better and in turn will be ready for a step up in trip. He ran very well over six furlongs at Wolverhampton last time out and we'd like to try and build on that run if we can, but he'll be entered for both races and we'll make a decision when the fields start to take shape.
We also had the physio come in last week so we got her to have a look at Phoenix Of Dreams whilst she was here, as he has hung to the left towards the end of his last couple of runs and we wanted to make sure there weren't any muscular issues causing him to do so. They didn't find anything of major concern although he was slightly out in a couple of the vertebrae in his neck, which was corrected by the physio at the time.
Hopefully that'll help him going forward and he'll continue to improve for us in his next run, whether than be at Southwell or Chelmsford.
