Plenty of options for Phoenix Of Dreams over the next couple of weeks | Latest update from Sean Quinn

07 Aug 2025
Although we opted not to run Phoenix Of Dreams at either Pontefract or Chepstow this week, we are still really happy with the way he's progressing at home.

We're going to work him later on in the week to make sure he's still fresh, but we've got a few options in mind for him over the next couple of weeks.

The plan is to come back to five furlongs with Phoenix Of Dreams because we've been looking back through his races, from both this season as well as last, and he's frequently taking a keen hold in the early stages of his runs. Hopefully this will bring about a little bit of improvement in him, as he won't tire himself out as much over a shorter distance, as he often does when taking on an extra furlong.

Looking through the schedule there are two options for him next week that we think should suit, the first being a five furlong race at Thirsk on Friday 16th, and then there's another race over the same distance at Doncaster the following day. There are plenty more options the following week, so we aren't short of opportunities for Phoenix Of Dreams. We'll be on weather watch over the next few days too, as a touch of rain wouldn't hurt his chances given that he likes a little bit of cut in the ground.

Like I say, there are plenty of contests that will suit him over the next fortnight, so it shouldn't be too long before we see Phoenix Of Dreams back out on track again.
