The Quinns are hopeful of a very productive year – latest Phoenix Of Dreams update

07 Jan 2024
Phoenix Of Dreams

It was very frustrating that Phoenix Of Dreams got cast in his stable just when we were getting ready to run him at the end of last year.

These things do happen, and the main thing is that he didn’t do himself any serious damage. He was stiff for a long time afterwards, but he slowly seems to be recovering and moving better, so we’ll just give him all the time he needs to get back to full fitness.

He’s been on the walker for a few days now, so I suspect we’ll keep him on that for the next few weeks. Once we are happy with him, we’ll start doing some steady cantering with him and look to build up his fitness gradually and look to have him ready for what will hopefully be a very productive year.

I suspect we’ll look to run him in a maiden near the start of the turf season, so we’ll probably see him on the track around March/April all being well. He won’t necessarily run on the turf, he could start out on the all-weather, so we’ll see what suitable opportunities there are for him nearer the time and make a decision from there.

I hope all Coral Racing Club members have a prosperous 2024, and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible throughout the year.
