Rockstar Icon has been cantering on the gallops this week and the good news is, he has shown no signs of any problems in his shins, so that encourages us that he is over his problems.

We have been reluctant to go too hard on him, but I do think we can start to increase his pace from next week.

He is looking like a bull of a horse, and he is one of our most striking two-year-olds in our yard. Naturally, with the box rest he had to endure, he has put on some weight, so there is some condition work to be done. Once he goes into full training, he will soon tighten up and lose those extra pounds.

Whatever happens this year, this horse is going to develop into a lovely three-year-old. He is powerful and he has a big frame for his age. However, we are not looking too far ahead. The immediate aim is to get him back on a racecourse over the next couple of months.
