We hoped the handicapper wouldn’t over-react to Sycamore’s victory, and I’m pleased to say that is the case, as he’s just been raised two pounds for the neck victory, which is fair, and puts him on a mark of 66.

We gave him a couple of quiet days immediately after the win, the good news is he was completely sound and came out of it well, and now we don’t have to do too much with him at home, just keep him ticking over as he’s fully race fit.

The race we’re looking at for his next run is back at Nottingham on 16th July, in a 49 – 68 rated handicap over the same course and distance as his win. The only thing that would prevent us running would be if the ground went extremely quick or very heavy, but such extremes are highly unlikely so we should be all systems go.
