Raceday LIVE Preview
Aspire To Glory continues to go in search of his fourth win of the year this afternoon as he heads to Southwell for the Alice Haynes team. He was last seen finishing third at Kempton off a mark of 56, and that mark remains unchanged following that decent effort.
Our four-year-old son of Cotai Glory has been ever so consistent so far this year and has only finished outside the top four on two occasions from 10 racecourse appearances. He's managed to develop a strong relationship with jockey Kieran O'Neill, who has ridden him in nine of those 10 contests, and so we're hoping the pair can continue to build on that this afternoon.

Kieran O'Neill and Alice Haynes with Aspire To Glory
Remarkably, despite still only being a four-year-old, Aspire To Glory has won at every all-weather track in England barring today's venue at Southwell. He's ran there three times this year, finishing second twice with a below par run in between, so there's no doubt he takes to the course well and with a nice draw in stall six we're hopeful he can put in another good performance today.
Check out below what trainer Alice Haynes had to say when we spoke to her this morning ahead of today's race
"Aspire To Glory continues to be in good form and has been fine since his last run at Kempton. This doesn't look an amazing race for the grade, we've got a good draw in stall six which we'll look to make a bit of use of, and hopefully he can be competitive again.
Of the opposition, Ocean Odyssey might be interesting for new connections, and Prefer The Sister beat us last time, but I think we can turn that form around."
Chris Dixon, Racing TV analyst, previews Aspire To Glory's contest at Southwell this afternoon
Aspire To Glory has held his form really well this season and again ran with credit when third at Kempton last time. Typically exuberant through the race, he only faltered late on having got to the lead from his prominent pitch to nicely inside the two furlong marker. Once again he gave the impression that he’s a better horse over 7f, so sticking to a mile again here looks a slight negative even though he has a nice draw in stall 6.
Last time out winner Embarked looks likely to make the early running and should give Aspire To Glory a target but the dangers may come from behind. Windsor Pass is an infrequent winner and habitual slow starter but does come into the race in form and could get competitive if the tempo is strong. However, two horses that haven’t been in their current yards look the most interesting duo with Ocean Odyssey and Woodleigh both making appeal. Ocean Oddyssey is having his first start here for James Owen, a trainer who has a knack of improving horses he picks up from elsewhere. Given he’s dropped in the weights and looked back in decent form on his last start for his former stable he looks a big player at a track where he won by six lengths on his only previous visit. Woodleigh is also well treated on old form and only just went down at Catterick on his stable debut nine days ago. He’s off the same mark and has a good draw in stall two.
Trainer and Jockey Statistics
Alice Haynes was back in the winners' enclosure yesterday at Goodwood following a fine performance from Naana's Sparkle, and that victory took her to two winners from 21 runners over the past couple of weeks.
Kieran O'Neill rode a winner at Ffos Las earlier this week, but that has been his only success from 29 rides in the last 14 days. So far this year he's ridden 39 times at Southwell, including two victories and a further ten top three finishes.
