Raceday LIVE Preview
Aspire To Glory's first two runs for Dylan Cunha have been somewhat disappointing, having finished back in the field on both occasions. However, we are hopeful that with both of those runs now under his belt, he should strip much fitter today and be able to put in an improved showing. Those two performances came over six and seven furlongs, but tonight Aspire To Glory will step back up to 1m½f which is a trip that he was successful over just over 12 months ago.
The handicapper has only dropped Aspire To Glory two pounds as a result of his two efforts this year which has brought his mark down to 55. His last victory came off the same mark at Chelmsford in August last year which was his final start for trainer Alice Haynes so that is certainly a positive if he can regain his spark.
Today's contest is a 0-55, which means that Aspire To Glory carries the top weight in the race, along with Captain Pickles and South Kensington, who both feature prominently in the market. Captain Pickles also happens to be the only other course and distance winner in the race, having won here on two occasions, with the most recent coming two starts ago in March. South Kensington is the only runner in today's race that's been victorious in his last six runs, having done so over seven furlongs at Brighton last October whereas five race maiden, Street Dancer, heads the market having taken a step forward to finish second last time out, a race in which he was favourite in.
Aspire To Glory is joined by another new face in the saddle this afternoon in George Wood, who dons the Coral Racing Club silks for the first time today, as Dylan Cunha tries to find the perfect new partner for our five-year-old. Our five-year-old has been in drawn in stall five of thirteen, a gate that should be beneficial in terms of getting an early position into the first bend, which arrives quickly at Wolverhampton.

Raceday update from Aspire To Glory's trainer, Dylan Cunha
"We're looking forward to seeing Aspire To Glory return to action at Wolverhampton tonight. It's over a course and distance he's won at before and he's definitely improved at home and looks a lot fitter now after his last two runs so we don't think he should have any excuses.
He's got a good jockey onboard [George Wood] and he's got a good draw so we expect a good show from him. We have runners at Southwell and Windsor today so unfortunately I won't be at Wolverhampton, but hopefully Aspire To Glory can get back into some winning and place form soon enough for the club."
Racing TV Analyst, Chris Dixon, looks at this evening's 20:30 at Wolverhampton and breaks down how he thinks the race will be run
Aspire To Glory has struggled in two starts following a break and a switch to his new stable and currently has a bit to prove as there was little in the way of encouragement in his latest run at Southwell. From a handicapping perspective he is now back to a winning mark and perhaps more importantly that means he can drop in class to a 0-55 handicap here. With a good draw also in his favour and the shape of the race looking like it could suit, there are positives should he bounce back to form but a big turnaround from recent efforts is required.
Captain Pickles was caught on the line when bidding for a hat trick at Southwell last time and has a good record over this course and distance and alongside Street Dancer, who was second here last week, look the ones to beat. South Kensington could go well back down the weights in a lower grade after running better than it looked at Yarmouth last time while one or two others arrive here in form to make it a reasonably competitive race for the grade.
Trainer and Jockey Statistics
Dylan Cunha was back in the winners' enclosure last week at Windsor which took his total to 8 winners for the year so far. Since Dylan made the move to the UK, he's sent 114 runners to Wolverhampton and has yielded a healthy 15% strike-rate (17 winners), as well as a further 24 finishing either second or third.
George Wood has ridden 10 winners so far this year with two of them coming at today's track. So far in his career the 28-year-old has been in the saddle on 33 occasions for Dylan and has won four times.
