Aspire To Glory heads back out on track for the fourth time in as many weeks this evening, as he takes to the tapeta at Wolverhampton looking to score at the West Midlands course for the second time in two months. It's safe to say that since winning at Wolverhampton at the end of September, things haven't fallen quite right for Aspire To Glory, with his two runs since resulting in sixth and ninth place finishes. The sixth place finish, which came over course and distance here at Wolverhampton, wasn't as bad as the sheer position would suggest, as Aspire To Glory attempted to make all of the running from the start of the race, just to be caught in the final stages of the contest and eventually finishing just over two lengths down on the winner. That run also marked the first career ride for young apprentice, Jake J Slawson, who rode with great credit onboard our five-year-old in what would have been a nervy experience.

Slawson took the reins on Aspire To Glory once more in his most recent run, but couldn't make his mark in the contest with the pair coming home in their own time at the back of the field at Southwell eight days ago. Although our winning-most horse made a typically promising start to the contest, he just couldn't keep up the pace with the rest of the field in the final two furlongs, having ridden relatively wide around the bend turning for home.

Marco Ghiani takes the reins on Aspire To Glory for the first time today and it will also mark the first time that the jockey has donned the Coral Racing Club silks on course. With 73 wins to his name during the 2026 flat season, Marco finished a fantastic seventh in the Flat Jockeys Championship and it's great to have such a talented rider onboard Aspire To Glory who can hopefully guide Aspire To Glory to his eighth career win.

The Opposition

Half of today's field, including Aspire To Glory, have tasted success over course and distance before, with all of the top three horses in the handicap having done so. Midnight's Dream, trained by Joseph Parr and ridden today by Champion Jockey, Billy Loughnane, is the most eye catching of those three competitors as he arrives looking to land a hat-trick after wins both here and at Southwell in his last two runs. Distillate, for Adrian McGuinness and piloted by Oisin Orr, is also hunting for a third win on the spin this evening having won back-to-back races over today's seven furlong trip but at Southwell. The chestnut mare comes into today's race off the same mark as Aspire To Glory, although rated two pounds higher.

Aspire To Glory's trainer, Dylan Cunha, gives us an update on our five-year-old ahead of this evening's contest

Aspire To Glory heads to Wolverhampton again this evening, looking to recapture the form that he showed when winning there last month.

We've booked Marco Ghiani this time, as we know Aspire To Glory can be a little bit less than straightforward on occasions. Marco is a strong jockey and should be able to give him the best possible chance of winning this afternoon. Hopefully he can get Aspire To Glory into rhythm early in the race and push on from there, in a similar way to which he won three starts ago.

Aspire To Glory is in great form at home. He's happy, healthy, eating well and generally just showing us all of the right signs that he's in good order and ready to put his best foot forward once more.

Good luck today and hopefully we'll see a few members in the Winners' Enclosure tonight!

Trainer and Jockey Statistics

Dylan Cunha is in solid form right now, sending out four winners from his last twenty runners, including a double on the card at Southwell last Monday on top of victories at Catterick and Newcastle. Dylan's record at Wolverhampton is equally as strong, having had 22 career winners there, of which six have come so far in 2026, including Aspire To Glory's first win for the South African trainer last month.

Marco Ghiani makes his debut in the Coral Racing Club colours this afternoon, having returned from Italy yesterday, where he scored in a Group 3 contest on Crown Board for Jane Chapple-Hyam. Ghiani sits on 98 winners for the year, and if he gets off to the perfect start on his first ride this evening, Aspire To Glory could end up being his 100th winner of 2026.
