Aspire To Glory makes the trip to the midlands this evening for Division II the Class 6 Handicap over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton (18:30).

It hasn't been the best of years so far for Aspire To Glory, who remains the Club's winning most horse with six victories to his name. Five of those six wins came over today's distance of seven furlongs, whilst the other came here at Wolverhampton over the extended mile trip. This year, however, hasn't been up to the standards that Aspire To Glory has set in previous campaigns, with no victories, or places, in any of his seven runs so far in 2026. 

The signs have been there that he could return to form, and he certainly has bounced back from a poor run of races to string together victories in the past. His penultimate run before today at Yarmouth was very encouraging, where he finished just over two lengths down in fifth place, having looked for a long way like he might be challenging for the victory at the winning post. That run came under today's jockey, Tom Marquand, who will be looking to get the best out of Aspire To Glory once more today.

Today's race was oversubscribed at declaration stage, and as such has been split into two divisions. Aspire To Glory will face a full field of 11 rivals as a result, five of whom are former course and distance winners, including the three horses who sit at the top of the handicap. Sanditon is the most recent winner in the field, doing so over course and distance at the start of June, meanwhile Court Of Session, the top weighted horse in the race, found himself in the winners enclosure just a day later when scoring on the turf at Nottingham. 

Raceday update from Dylan Cunha

"Aspire To Glory heads to Wolverhampton with Tom Marquand back on board this evening. 

Given the great ride that Tom gave him at Yarmouth two starts ago, it made sense to book him again today. Aspire To Glory deserves his place in this field and if he can get a clear run from what's a good draw in stall four, then I'd expect him to go close today.

Dylan Cunha has saddled 34 winners from 338 runners on the Flat this season, recording a 10% strike rate. His four-year-old and older all-weather runners have achieved a 13% strike rate, with five winners from 39 runners. With Aspire To Glory returning to the all-weather at Wolverhampton this evening, Dylan Cunha will be hoping our six-time winner can add another victory to his tally.

Tom Marquand has ridden 80 winners from 628 rides on the Flat this season, recording a 13% strike rate. His record aboard older horses on the all-weather is particularly encouraging, with 10 winners from 59 rides and a 17% strike rate. He partners Aspire To Glory for just the second time this evening as our five-year-old looks to score for the first time this year.
