Raceday LIVE Preview
Katalyst's form has been somewhat streaky since she made her debut all the way back in August of last year, with some very good performances mixed in with a few less than stellar outings. One of her best runs to date came here at Kempton last year where she bolted from the stalls and took early control of the seven furlong contest, before being reeled in by the market leaders and eventually coming home in a clear fifth position. That was the last time Katalyst appeared at Kempton, and on the face of things she heads here tonight on far more favourable terms with her rivals than she did in that Novice Fillies' contest last September.
WATCH: Lewis Edmunds is full of praise for Katalyst following her fourth place finish
The all-weather surface at Kempton is set to be on the slow side of standard this evening and with a draw of stall one, Katalyst should be able to get the rail early and potentially be able to dictate the early pace of the race as the field bundle down the long back straight from the 1m start.

Racing TV Analyst, Chris Dixon, gives us his thoughts on Katalyst's chances at Kempton this evening, and who he thinks might be involved at the finish
Consistency hasn’t been a strong suit for Katalyst to this point of her career, with more poor runs than good ones. Given the pattern of her career so far so it was hardly a surprise to see her fail to build on a good run at Nottingham in May when back to the same track at the start of last month for her latest race. Some mitigation can be provided by her wide draw on that occasion, though she’s hardly a filly to be making too many excuses for. At least she has fared well on the draw front here with an inside berth in stall one, which would be an ideal starting point to attempt to adopt the front-running tactics that served her well at Nottingham on her penultimate start.
If she’s able to do that and produce one of her better efforts then she can get into the mix, though more obvious contenders appear to be the consistent pair of Blue Celestial and Fallacious Promise (an easy winner at Lingfield on Monday and likely well-in under a penalty here) while Roccobear could improve for the application of cheek pieces. Torbados is another who is capable if showing his best form off a falling mark.
Trainer and Jockey Statistics
William Muir & Chris Grassick have been in great form in recent weeks, producing three winners in the last five days, including one at Wolverhampton on Monday. Their form at Kempton isn't too bad either, with 15 winners coming from 138 runs at the course, one of those coming this year from 13 entries.
Lewis Edmunds rode two of those winners for Muir & Grassick, and also picked up another victory on Wine Dark Sea for Harry Charlton at Carlisle at the end of June. The talented young jockey is riding at a modest 11% for Muir & Grassick, with 62 career winners for the pair of which five have come this year.
