Joe Tizzard Saturday Preview: We can have a go at Jonbon

27 Jan 2024
Coral Racing Ambassador, Joe Tizzard, gives an exclusive preview of his three runners between Cheltenham, Doncaster and Kempton today, including Elixir De Nutz in the rescheduled Clarence House Chase.

11.50 Doncaster – War Lord

I am hoping Doncaster won’t be too quick for him. There has been a lack of options for him as he deserves to be running for decent prize money. He seems in good form at home. If they go a good gallop, his stamina will come into it at the end. I just hope it isn’t a slow run race.

14:25 Cheltenham – Elixir De Nutz

It is great the Clarence House Chase has been moved to this card as it means we don’t lose it. Jonbon is obviously the horse we all must beat. Elixir De Nutz was running an excellent race in the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton during the festive period and if it wasn’t for a bad mistake two out, we would have been a lot closer to Editeur Du Gite.

Freddie Gingell gets a great tune out of Elixir De Nutz and he has been in excellent form all season. I am hopeful he can continue that, and we can have a go at Jonbon.

20:30 Kempton – Tamaris

He has run a couple of good races at Linfield recently, including last time out where he only went down by a neck. 7lb claimer Joe Bradnam rode him on his last start and I’ve given him the chance again here.

It will be his first appearance at Kempton and if he handles the track, he should go close again.
