19:15 – Conservative finishes 4th on his second run for the Coral Racing Club!

Phil Dennis did just as Scott asked and got Conservative into an early lead where he could dictate the pace as he pleased. Turning for home he was right there with May Night and his stablemate Visibility, but was just done for toe in the closing stages. 

Congrats to our 10 Owners for the Day who we hope are having a great night at Wolverhampton so far and will take home 10% each of the £831 prize money for the fourth-place finish.

Conservative is currently 14/1, whilst Tothenines who runs for Karl Burke is the hot 3/1 favourite who ran in the same race as Conservative two weeks ago. 

Scott has another in the race with Visibility who's 9/1 and will be ridden by Kieran O'Neill. 

18:40 – Course form!

The field is filled with course experience with three of Conservative's opponents winning over course and distance, with another two winning at the course over a different distance.

Conservative's only visit to the track resulted in a 2nd place finish back in April last year whilst trained by Martyn Meade.

18:20 – Latest words from Scott Dixon at Wolverhampton about race tactics

"He [Conservative] is not a horse who you can tuck away. Phil will be trying to get a good break and cut across to the front end of the field".

Scott would much prefer Conservative to lead where he can lengthen his stride as he pleases without getting in a tactical battle stuck in behind.

18:05 – Market mover!

Despite there now being two non-runners in the field (Super Den and Baby Steps), Conservative has definitely been attractive in the market having opened up yesterday around 25/1 and now he's 10/1 with Coral.

We're offering 4 places each-way instead of 3.

17:45 – Richest race of the day across all three meetings

The Class 4 handicap over 1m 1/2f is worth a striking £16,100 in total prize money, with the winner scooping £8,427.

17:30 – A couple of firsts for horse and jockey

Tonight will be the first time that Conservative has to leave the gates from Stall 10, and it's also the first time jockey Phil Dennis has ridden him in a competitive race. It'll be interesting to see if Phil looks to try and get a prominent position on Conservative just like Connor Beasley managed last time at Southwell.

This contest also marks Conservative's 10th racecourse appearance, and following it, he'll have been ridden by eight different jockeys – they include the likes of Jamie Spencer, David Egan and David Probert.
