Welcome to the Coral Racing Club

Celebrating 200 runners for the Coral Racing Club | From Newcastle to Chelmsford and everywhere in between

13 Mar 2026
200 is more than just a number – it’s a story of shared excitement, unforgettable moments, and a community brought together by the thrill of racing.

Yesterday's run at Newcastle from Phoenix Of Dreams marked the Coral Racing Club's 200th runner and today we'll mark our 201st with another first as All The Glory lines up at the Cheltenham Festival in the Grade 2 Mares' Chase. It's been a remarkable journey since the Club launched back in November 2022, from memorable debuts to landmark victories and dramatic raceday moments, these milestones have helped shape the club’s identity and the experiences of its members.

Join us as we take a trip down memory lane to look back at some key moments from Coral Racing Club racedays to celebrate hitting this latest milestone.

Lady Mendoza became the Coral Racing Club's first runner when lining up in a Mares' Maiden Hurdle at Newcastle in November 2022, and it was so nearly a dream start when she put in a brilliant performance to come home in 2nd place. 'Lady M' was a stable favourite at trainer Rebecca Menzies' yard and she went on to feature another 17 times for the Club at the likes of Cartmel, Market Rasen and Perth.

It may have taken a little longer than we'd have hoped for, but West End Boy secured the Club's first win in truly emphatic style when cruising to victory by 10 lengths on his handicap debut in October 2023. Our Joe Tizzard-trained son of Westerner landed his 10 Owners for the Day £4,850 in prize money that day, with each of them getting to take home an equal 10% share.

Like London buses, we didn't have to wait long for our second winner as Aspire To Glory made it eighth time lucky when securing victory at Kempton on the all-weather in December 2023, marking our first success on the flat and a well deserved win for then trainer Alice Haynes.

Fast forward to the summer of 2024 and we headed to Nottingham and Newcastle for a Coral Racing Club double header with Sycamore and Cast No Shadow. The former was making just his third start for the Club with trainer Scott Dixon, and he sprung quite the surprise when landing the spoils at 10/1 under jockey Phil Dennis. Just 90 minutes later we headed to Gosforth Park as Cast No Shadow went in search of his second win for the Club, and that he delivered after a power-packed ride from the front from former Champion Jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, thus securing a mammoth 66/1 across the card double.

Phoenix Of Dreams showed bundles of promise as a three-year-old including a hat-trick of second place finishes, but it was his debut at Thirsk where he finished behind future Group 1 winner, Never So Brave, which had everyone at the Club dreaming of what might be to come. However, it was a trip to Redcar in October 2024 which lead to his maiden win for the Club and he did in in good style under regular pilot, Jason Hart.

Cave Article joined the Coral Racing Club with a strong reputation having finished second in a point-to-point race in Ireland behind a horse who was picked up by none other than Willie Mullins. Having started life over hurdles, it didn't take long before trainer Christian Williams switched Cave Article to fences and on just his second start over the bigger obstacles, he secured his first success after making the 300+ mile trip from Wales to Sedgefield.

After the retirement of our previous star mare Annie Mc, it was over to All The Glory who joined from the Jonjo & AJ O'Neill stable to take over as the highest rated horse at the Club. She also arrived with a big reputation having previously won four times over hurdles, and she took no time at all to find her feet as she made it a debut to remember when winning comfortably at Southwell on New Year's Day in 2025. Her 10 Owners for the Day certainly went home smiling that day as she scooped just shy of £10,000 in prize money, and that result took the Coral Racing Club over £100,000 won in prize money, all of which has been shared by our very own members.

Cave Article makes another appearance in our 200-runner celebration and that's because he stole the show once more in June 2025 when landing his third victory under the Coral Racing Club banner at Southwell. It was a packed out crowd of Coral Racing Club members in attendance as owners that day and they were treat to a peach of a ride from Jack Tudor as he guided our then six-year-old to a four and a half length success.

When Aspire To Glory failed to go close to winning any of his first seven runs for the Club, we certainly didn't think that by August 2025 he would've gone on to win on six different occasions, including at every all-weather track in the UK apart from Southwell. On his final appearance back in August last year he travelled as well as he probably ever has with his usual tongue antics in full swing (quite literally), and his partner Kieran O'Neill kept him up to work as they bounded down the home straight at Chelmsford to record his sixth career win. A statue isn't actually under consideration, but you'd have to imagine it can't be far away.

A dream run from Phoenix Of Dreams as the Coral Racing Club's 200th runner

Last night's performance from Phoenix Of Dreams couldn't have gone any better, as our John & Sean Quinn-trained five-year-old secured his second career victory as the Club's 200th runner at Newcastle. It was a wet and windy evening at Gosforth Park, but that didn't deter his Owners for the Day making the trip to see him deliver the goods when it mattered most.

It's been an incredible journey so far and it's been amazing for so many of our Coral Racing Club members to get the chance to play their part in all 200 of our raceday experiences.Hopefully 2026 and beyond brings us plenty more success and memorable days on the racetrack.
