Aspire To Glory is looking in great form at the start of the new year. He is really on his toes at the moment, and he seems to have a big spring in his step following his first victory at Kempton last month.

I think there is a good chance we may see him feature twice in January. The races I have pencilled down as options for him are Lingfield on the 14th, Wolverhampton on the 20th and Kempton on the 24th. The first of those two races are over 7f, and the latter is over 1m. I’d have no concerns about him stepping back up to 1m. As you saw at Kempton, he finished that race very strongly.

The handicapper has put him 2lb since his last run and I think that is very fair. I really do believe there is much more to come from Aspire To Glory so he has a great chance of successfully following up.

2023 was a great year for everybody involved in my stable but we need more winners now. The target in 2024 is to reach 60 winners for the year. As every trainer will also tell you, we will be hoping to have a couple more graded horses too.
