WATCH: Conservative declared for his third start over hurdles on Thursday

20 Aug 2024
Conservative
Conservative has been declared to run in Thursday's Class 4 Maiden Hurdle (14:10) at Newton Abbot.

The club's five-year-old gelding, who is trained by Joe Tizzard, was last seen finishing a pleasing fifth at Uttoxeter on just his second start over hurdles, and following his next run will be given his opening handicap mark.

Thursday's race is over two miles and two furlongs and a half, so it's a slight step up in trip for Conservative, but given the way he's stayed on well in both of his efforts over hurdles so far, there shouldn't be any stamina concerns.

Tune in to our latest declaration video to find out more from David Stevens, who also provides an update on Cast No Shadow and Lady Mendoza.
