'A couple of weeks away from his next run' – latest update on Conservative

We weighed Conservative last week and we noticed he had put a little bit of weight on, which is normal given he did very little while he was recovering from his heel injury. The good news is, he is over the problem he had, so we can get him back into full work now.

We did a nice, fast-paced workout with him on Monday morning and he came through that session well without blowing too hard. Kat, who rides him out each week, said afterwards that he is moving as well as he ever has, which is very encouraging for us all.

I think we are around a couple of weeks away from his next appearance in a race. Hopefully, he builds on what he has shown so far, and if he does do that, there is a good chance he can get his nose in front somewhere.

As far as trainer form goes, it's fair to say Scott has his yard in good nick having sent out three winners from just his last 11 runners– so fingers crossed that form continues until we see Conservative back out again who can hopefully go close to adding another win to the yard's tally for the season.
