WATCH: Joe Tizzard announces the winning name and reveals the members who won the Name Your Horse competition

29 May 2024

In April we launched our latest Name Your Horse competition, giving Coral Racing Club members the chance to submit a name for the club's new four-year-old gelding in training with Joe Tizzard.

Following an amazing response, we received 5,000 entries for the opening competition. We then picked out five of the best from all the submissions and put them to a vote.

The top five contenders were:

  • Crystal Fox
  • Diamond Days
  • Foxy Lad
  • Mane Attraction
  • One More Time

The vote was available to enter for two weeks on the Coral Racing Club, and after over 5,000 members got their votes in, the name which came out on top was... Diamond Days!

Two Coral Racing Club members, Ralph and Toby, both submitted the name, and so each of them have won an Ultimate Owner for the Day experience for Diamond Days' debut run, including racecourse tickets, travel and accomodation, 10% share of any prize money he wins, plus much more.

When we revealed the good news to both members, this is what they had to say:

Ralph

"I hope Diamond Days shines brightly on the racetrack and is a winner in the future."

Toby

"I feel very proud to have the name Diamond Days selected. Let's hope that the name is a positive sign for all of the connections linked to the horse in the years to come."

Tune in to the announcement video to hear more from trainer Joe Tizzard, including the very latest on Diamond Days.
