Following her appearance over 2m4f at Newcastle last month, Lady Mendoza steps up in trip to 3 miles on Saturday evening at Uttoxeter for the Coral Racing Club.

Trainer Rebecca Menzies had this to say shortly before making the decision to send Lady Mendoza to Uttoxeter:

We gave ourselves the option of running Lady Mendoza at Uttoxeter on Saturday night rather than Aintree on Friday, in case the Aintree race looked to be quite hot, and so it proved, so we’ll wait an extra day.

We spoke to Brian [Hughes] and his view was she’d have a much better chance in the Uttoxeter race and he’d ride her if she went there, so it was a no-brainer. She will carry top weight but that’s because she’s the best horse in the field on ratings and the ground is currently good, so should be perfect for her, with no jar in it.

Brian also thought the track would suit and we’re stepping her up in trip, so there’s lots to be excited about!

In her latest update, Rebecca said that Lady Mendoza was looking really well in herself during a trip to the beach and that she's been in great form at home.
