WATCH: Double declaration as Greek Symphony and Phoenix of Dreams are both set for Action on Friday
Friday promises to be a hugely exciting day for the Coral Racing Club with two runners to get behind; Greek Symphony flying the flag on the big stage at Newmarket and Phoenix Of Dreams looking to backup his excellent performance last time out.
There is always something special about seeing the Coral Racing Club silks heading out onto the racecourse but Friday takes that excitement up another level. Greek Symphony lines up in the 13:50 Oh So Sharp Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) at Newmarket, giving the Club a runner in Group company and our exciting two-year-old filly the chance to test herself at a whole new level.
Greek Symphony has already given members some brilliant moments during her first season on the track. After finishing third on debut at Goodwood and going agonisingly close when second at Newbury, she got her head in front at Lingfield in July, digging deep and producing a terrific late surge to grab victory right on the line.
That first win was a special moment for everyone connected with the Club and she has continued to show her quality since, including two more placed efforts at Leicester and Epsom. Now she gets her chance on the Group stage. Stepping into Group 3 company at Newmarket represents the biggest challenge of Greek Symphony's young career and it is a hugely exciting moment for the Coral Racing Club. From winning at Lingfield to lining up in a Group race at the home of British Flat racing, she has already taken members on quite a journey. On Friday, we get to find out just how much more there might be to come.
The excitement does not end at Newmarket either.
Later on Friday, Phoenix Of Dreams lines up in the 20:15 Class 5 Handicap over seven furlongs at Kempton, looking to build on his excellent second at Southwell last time out.
The five-year-old travelled strongly into that race before making his move inside the final two furlongs and he kept battling all the way to the line. It was a performance packed with heart and another reminder of what Phoenix Of Dreams is capable of when everything falls into place. He returns over seven furlongs on Friday looking to build on that effort and give members another big run to cheer home.
From the excitement of Group 3 company at Newmarket to an evening under the lights at Kempton, Friday has all the ingredients of a brilliant day for the Coral Racing Club. David Stevens brings us the latest on Greek Symphony and Phoenix Of Dreams following declarations and looks ahead to a fantastic Friday of racing for the Club in the video above.
