Seven furlongs in October is the aim – latest Phoenix Of Dreams update

17 Sep 2023
Phoenix Of Dreams

We are really happy with how Phoenix Of Dreams has developed over the last few weeks, and he really seems to be maturing both physically and mentally.

He’s really grown physically actually, and you can see where he’s strengthened and tightened up, so he’s showing us all the right signs at this stage. He’s been cantering on the gallops the last few weeks, and although he’s yet to do any fast work, I’d say we pretty much have him at full fitness.

I’ve got to say he’s a really lovely horse to deal with and a proper gentleman. He’s good to ride and he’s grown into a big strapping horse, so he’s certainly no pussy cat, and he’s shown great enthusiasm for his work which is what you always like to see.

All being well we’ll do some fast work with him over the next few weeks with the view to getting him ready to run. We don’t want to rush him, but I’d say we are about a month or so off seeing him on the track, so in a few weeks time we’ll start looking at the programme book and start looking for a decent opportunity over 7f there are for him.
