Hugo Palmer hopeful we'll get to see Ribbon Is A Dancer make his debut in October

28 Sep 2024
Ribbon Is A Dancer was going along nicely at home, but then had a slight setback with a muscle issue, nothing major, but it did mean we had to ease off him.

He’s back cantering now, and is very near us being able to step him up to fast work. He had done plenty of faster work prior to the setback, so this won’t be new to him.

If we get a clear run with him now, we should be seeing him on a racecourse in October. We’ll let the weather dictate to a degree whether we start him on turf or all-weather, as a son of Soldier’s Call he should act with some cut in the ground, but obviously you wouldn’t want to start a two-year-old on very testing ground.

The rain is set to ease off next week anyway, so hopefully we might end the season with some better ground and we can give him an enjoyable first racecourse experience.
