Rockstar Icon became the Coral Racing Club's second winner on the flat at Lingfield on New Year's Eve, scoring in the Class 5 EBF Restricted Novice Stakes over seven furlongs under David Probert.

Our Paul & Oliver Cole-trained gelding was drawn widest of all in stall twelve, and following a great break from the stalls, David Probert moved to a prominent position in the field. He wasn't able to get the rail, but raced just outside early leader, Different Breed, who was able to get the inside line having been drawn in two. 

Rockstar Icon raced in second from the five furlong marker, hot on the heels of early leader different breed. Probert didn't have to ask too many questions to get a response from him, and they took the lead more than a furlong from home. 

The two-year-old then kicked on inside the final furlong, staying on nicely to win by an eventual one and-a-half lengths, much to the delight of the ten Owners for the Day who each got a share of the £3,564 prize money for the victory.
