In our final episode of Racing Greats with the Tizzards, we look back on the career of the 2018 Coral Welsh Grand National winner, Elegant Escape.
Elegant Escape finished second to Samcro in his sole point-to-point start for Gordon Elliott in 2016, before he was bought and moved to Venn Farm by the Tizzards. He kicked off his career under rules with two wins over hurdles for his new connections, before a low-key remainder of the season.
He picked up two victories in his first season as a novice chaser in 2017/18, and then in his second season finished 2nd in what was then the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury before going on to secure the biggest victory of his career in the Coral Welsh Grand National.
