Tidal Force is a two-year-old bay gelding by Land Force out of the Arch mare Kirrin Island and is trained by Hugo Palmer at Manor House Stables.

Tidal Force comes from a family packed with high-class performers. His sire Land Force won the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood as a juvenile and is himself a son of No Nay Never. Further back sits an exceptional female family, with Land Force’s granddam Cassandra Go linking the pedigree to Halfway To Heaven and her outstanding descendants Magical, Rhododendron and Auguste Rodin. Kirrin Island brings the influence of Arch on the dam side, adding a different dimension to the precocious sprinting blood found through Land Force.

We bought Tidal Force ahead of the 2026 Flat season and he immediately caught the eye as a big, striking individual with plenty of presence. He has always had plenty about him physically and mentally and in those early months the challenge for Hugo Palmer and his team was persuading him that life did not always need to happen at full throttle.

The decision to geld Tidal Force made a considerable difference. Hugo noticed a real change afterwards, particularly in his day-to-day work where he became much easier to manage and eventually stopped needing the hood he had previously worn at home. Crucially, none of that took away the spark that had caught Hugo’s eye in the first place.

Tidal Force has now made four racecourse appearances, gaining valuable experience with each outing as Hugo Palmer and his team continue to learn more about our promising youngster. His most recent run at Leicester saw him make his handicap debut over seven furlongs, marking another important step in his development.

There is still plenty for Tidal Force to learn as he grows into his substantial frame and begins to understand what is expected of him on the racecourse. He's already come a long way from the exuberant youngster who wanted to do everything in a hurry and we're looking forwards to seeing how he progresses as he gains further experience and maturity.
