Aspire To Glory forces a dead-heat in the final strides to land his fifth victory | Raceday Highlights
Aspire To Glory put in yet another outstanding performance last week as he claimed his fifth victory, albeit in a dead-heat finish. Chelmsford is the latest track that he's scored at, and now he only needs a victory at Southwell to have registered a victory at all of the British all-weather courses, following wins at Kempton, Lingfield, Wolverhampton, and Newcastle.

Drawn in stall 10 of 11, Aspire To Glory wasn't going to have an easy time of getting to the front early in the race, which we know he likes to do, but regular partner, Kieran O'Neill, did an outstanding job of getting him to the fore after breaking well from the stalls.
Coming to the bend, Aspire To Glory was running well in second position two wide with Nubough, who had taken up the early running of the race. Plenty of runners in behind were under pressure with three furlongs to go, and Aspire To Glory was one of the last two horses to come off the bridle, turning for home with just over two furlongs to run.
Going into the final furlong of the contest, it looked as though Aspire To Glory's heavy pressure on early leader, Nubough, wasn't going to pay dividends and that he would finish second to the wire-to-wire leader, but as we've all seen in the not so distant past, he doesn't give up easily. Kieran O'Neill, taking his 12th ride onboard Aspire To Glory, proved how well he knew the horse in that final furlong, as he continued to push him, and he got the response required with around half a furlong to go, as the pair ate up the gap right at the perfect moment to catch Nubough on the line in a truly electrifying finish.

We caught up with Alice Haynes after the race, to check up on how Aspire To Glory was doing and what the next steps will be for our four-year-old:
"Congratulations on Aspire To Glory's dead-heat last night, it was a first for me as well!
He certainly didn't deserve to be beaten given how well he travelled again, and he's really turned the corner and become a solid all-weather performer.
I wouldn't be afraid to try him on turf given how he is now, but we will freshen him up as he likes a bit of time between races and then see what suitable options there are for him.
He's fine this morning, and well done again."
Check back soon for an update on when and where Aspire To Glory's next target will be, and how you could be one of his lucky Owners for the Day for the occasion!
