Diamond Days: Hereford review, interview with Jack Tudor and an update from trainer Joe Tizzard
After such a promising handicap debut at the end of January, the Tizzard team were full of confidence heading to Hereford, but a combination of some lacklustre jumping and difficulties handling the good ground conditions lead to Diamond Days being pulled up by Jack Tudor [jockey] before the final hurdle.

We caught up with trainer Joe Tizzard earlier this week, and this is the update he provided:
'We were all disappointed with Diamond Days’ run at Hereford earlier this month when Jack [Tudor] had to pull him up.
His best run so far came on heavy ground at Lingfield, so I think it’s quite clear now that this horse is at his best when there is plenty of give under foot. I'm not saying he needs a bog, but I think it will be wise of us to give him the right ground.
With no rain forecast for the next seven days, I am going to sit tight with him. He will continue to stay race-fit at home and once we get some downpours, we will find a good opportunity for him.
If he can build on his run at Lingfield, I still believe he has a great chance of getting his nose in front from this mark of 92.'
