A few weeks ago we headed to Whatcombe Stables with the lucky Stable Visit competition winners to catch up with Oliver Cole and find out the latest on the club's promising three-year-old, Rockstar Icon.

Rockstar Icon has only had three starts since joining the Coral Racing Club last April, but sometimes less is more when you have a horse of his potential.

He got off the mark at the third time of asking on New Year's Eve following a six month break after finishing second at Haydock in June. That race has since thrown up a few subsequent winners, including Gray's Inn (3rd) and Nellie Leylax (4th), with both of them now rated 93 and 92 respectively. As a result of Rockstar Icon's victory at Lingfield last time out, he has been given an opening handicap rating of 80.

Fast forward a few months since shedding his maiden tag, and following a series of good pieces of work at home, he's now ready to return to turf action and has been entered in this Saturday's Class 4 Handicap (17:15) over seven furlongs at Newmarket.

There are currently 33 entries for the race on Saturday, with a maximum field size of 25 runners.
