WATCH: West End Boy finishes 2nd at Wincanton earning owners over £1,500 in prize money
West End Boy ran a great race on Wednesday at Wincanton as he finished 2nd on his third start for the Coral Racing Club, earning just over £1,500 in prize money for the lucky owners for the day who took home a 10% share each.

We also spoke with Joe Tizzard yesterday and this is what he had to say:
West End Boy came out of his race absolutely fine, he trotted up 100% sound this morning and was in lovely form. I was really pleased with his run, the ground seemed more testing than the official description of good, good to soft in places, and I think this fellow will appreciate a better surface.
That said, I still liked the way he galloped all the way to the line, he travelled well in his previous two starts, but this was a step up for sure, he’s learning all the time and gaining more confidence. He did make one or two novicey mistakes, but he’s a progressive horse and that’s great to see.
We’ll now wait to see what the handicapper does in terms of his opening mark, my guess would be something around the 100 mark. That could be it until the autumn, but equally he could run again before the end of the season. He won’t be turned out for a few weeks, but if there is an opportunity for him on good, safe ground, we could run him again, so watch this space.
It was great to meet the owners for the day at Wincanton, I hope they all enjoyed it, and as he picked up some prize money too, it was a good day all round!
