Rockstar Icon returns to action today for his second run for the Coral Racing Club in the 19:10 Class 2 EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Haydock.

Rockstar Icon ran credibly on debut at Windsor last month, finishing 7th in what has proven to have been a pretty hot contest so far. Denruth Diamond & Sky Wizard have both won since, and Inquisitively, who finished 2nd that day, ran a superb race to come 3rd in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.

Jockey Mark Winn, an apprentice based out of David O'Meara's yard, takes his first ride for the Whatcombe team aboard Rockstar Icon this evening. The young jockey has impressed so far this season, winning 15% of the races he's ridden in.

Latest words from trainers Paul & Oliver Cole: 

I’m really looking forward to getting Rockstar Icon back on the track. He made a pleasing start at Windsor last time, and I think he’ll have learnt plenty from that experience. He’s very fit at the moment and has been looking really well in himself, so I definitely think he’ll step forward for that debut effort and I can see him running a big race.

He’s drawn in stall five, conditions should be ideal for him and I think the course at Haydock will suit him, so I’d say everything is in his favour and I can’t wait to see how he gets on.
