Lady Mendoza's return delayed due to ground concerns – latest update from Rebecca Menzies

Lady Mendoza

We’re very happy with Lady Mendoza, and we were hoping to get her season started with a run over hurdles at Market Rasen on Thursday, just to blow the cobwebs away after her summer break.

But we did, however, always have one eye on the weather, as we don’t want to ask her to go on testing ground on her first run back.

Therefore, having discussed it with the team, we’ve decided to just hold on a bit longer before we get her back on the track. Generally the forecast seems drier after what seems like endless rain, and there are several courses where we can expect to find decent ground for this time of the year.

I think we’ll still look to start her off over hurdles, but the plan is still very much to go chasing with her, and that’s an exciting prospect, so it won’t be too long before we get going again.
