Rockstar Icon has been declared to run in the 19:10 Class 2 EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Haydock on Saturday.

He made his debut over six furlongs at Windsor a few weeks ago and is set to step up in trip to 7f for this next race which is worth over £26,000 in total prize money.

His first appearance has already produced two subsequent winners, with the second that day Inquisitively finishing 3rd in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot this week.

Trainer Oliver Cole had this to say just after declaring Rockstar Icon earlier today:

We’ve decided to declare Rockstar Icon in the novice race at Haydock on Saturday evening, and I’m really looking forward to getting him back on the track.

He made a pleasing start at Windsor last time, and I think he’ll have learnt plenty from that experience. He’s very fit at the moment and has been looking really well in himself, so I definitely think he’ll step forward for that debut effort and I can see him running a big race.

He’s drawn in stall five, conditions should be ideal for him and I think the course at Haydock will suit him, so I’d say everything is in his favour and I can’t wait to see how he gets on.
