West End Boy schooling well over hurdles

West End Boy
West End Boy has done lots of schooling over hurdles over the last week or so, and I am very happy with his jumping. He’s obviously not seen a racecourse yet, so it has been important that we do lots of work at home over hurdles just to make sure he is prepared for that first start.

I am going to have a look through the fixtures this week and circle two or three options for him in early February. I’ll be looking for races over two miles as I think that is going to be a good starting point for him.

The field sizes are starting to settle down now. It has been a frustrating week or so for every trainer up and down the country with the cold snap forcing meetings to be abandoned. Temperatures should rise again this week so hopefully we don’t lose much more racing this month.
