'We've identified a couple of targets for her' – latest Lady Mendoza update

03 Apr 2023
Lady Mendoza

It was disappointing how the forecast transpired against us recently at Musselburgh, but as it happened Donald McCain had a really well-handicapped horse in the race that won incredibly comfortably, so with the benefit of hindsight, it might have been a blessing in disguise.

It’s really important that we find the right race and the right conditions for Lady Mendoza’s next run, so we certainly don’t want to be rushing anything.

We’ve identified a couple of potential targets for her, one at Newcastle on Saturday 15th April, then there’s a mares race at Kelso on Monday 17th April we are also considering.

We’ll probably give her an entry for those once the entries open, then it’s just a case of monitoring the conditions, and hoping we get a nice dry week leading up to it.

Lady Mendoza has been in excellent form at home, and I’m really looking forward to hosting the Coral Racing Club members for our stable visit on Wednesday 19th April, so I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks.
